The Panama Canal Authority continues to advance in the development of the Energy Corridor, an initiative aimed at strengthening logistics connectivity and the transport of energy products between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. As part of this process, the entity published a new update to the pre-qualification document to select the company that will be in charge of the project.
The pre-qualification stage began in January 2026 and includes the technical, financial, and legal evaluation of companies interested in participating. According to the Panama Canal, the issued updates are part of the established procedures to ensure transparency and facilitate the participation of the private sector in an initiative considered strategic for the development of infrastructure complementary to the interoceanic waterway.
The project seeks to expand Panama's logistical and energy capabilities, strengthening its position as a distribution and connection hub for international trade. Its development could generate new opportunities for maritime transport, infrastructure investment, and global supply chains, in a context of growing demand for services related to the trade of energy products.
