The state-owned hydrocarbon company Petroperú indicated that, within the framework of its preparation for the impact of the Coastal El Niño Phenomenon projected for 2026, it is strengthening its prevention and response plans for its main operations nationwide.
"The company is implementing an action plan for each of its operational facilities, which includes structured planning for the supply of crude oil and inputs, as well as the implementation of measures aimed at guaranteeing the normal supply of fuels nationwide," it stated.
It detailed that the actions include technical inspections of critical infrastructure, preventive maintenance of drainage systems, review of essential equipment, and verification of electrical and backup systems, all of which will be executed within the framework of budgetary availability.
Likewise, it indicated that coordination meetings will be held with Regional Governments, Municipalities, and state entities with the objective of identifying joint risks and prevention actions.
"These activities are part of Petroperú's commitment to responsible and comprehensive management of its processes, contributing to ensuring the timely supply of fuels to the entire population and productive sectors of the country," it specified.
Petroperú also stated that, through its Rain Committee, it will constantly monitor climatic conditions and maintain continuous communication with competent authorities to safeguard people, the infrastructure of its operations, the environment, and energy security.
