The Port of Callao led Peruvian exports within the country's port system between January and May 2026, after totaling USD 14.371 million, registering a growth of 22.1% compared to the same period in 2025, according to figures from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur).
In second place was the Port of Matarani, which reached USD 5.758 million in exports with an increase of 40.9% during the same period.
For its part, the Port of Chancay totaled USD 322 million, a figure that represented an increase of 181.8% compared to the January-May 2025 monthly period.
Likewise, according to the National Port Authority (APN), over the last twelve months, 77% of Peruvian foreign trade was mobilized by sea, compared to 20% by air and 3% by land.
"These results reflect the contribution of the National Port System, managed by the APN, to the growth of exports, Peru's connectivity with international markets, and the country's economic development," the entity stated.
