The National Agri-Food Health and Quality Service (SENASA) ordered the denaturing of 15,000 kilograms of beef detected as being irregularly transported, with unknown origin, and posing a danger to consumer health.
The merchandise originated from the province of Jujuy and was detected during routine checks by agents of the Rural, Environmental, and Cultural Heritage Protection Police of Salta, in the town of Pichanal, in the Orán Department, who intervened and notified SENASA to carry out the corresponding sanitary and documentary inspection measures.

In this context, personnel from the NOA Norte Regional Center of the sanitary agency verified that the shipment was not covered by documentation that would prove its origin and sanitary conditions for circulation or its suitability for human consumption, which posed a risk to anyone who consumed it. Therefore, they ordered its seizure and shipment for denaturing to an officially authorized slaughterhouse in the area.
Articulated work, both with the Police and with other provincial and national institutions on strategic corridors in northern Argentina, allows for continued guaranteeing of the food safety and security mechanisms established by current regulations to protect consumer health and the zoophytosanitary status of Argentina's agricultural production.
