The National Agri-Food Health and Quality Service (SENASA) continues its phytosanitary inspection tasks on used agricultural machinery and implements entering the country from various parts of the world, through the port of Zárate.

The objective is to comply with the requirements requested by the Phytosanitary Import Authorization (AFIDI), which includes: external and internal cleaning of the machinery, freedom from soil, plant debris, and pests, submission to one of the quarantine treatments approved by Argentina, and possession of a phytosanitary certificate issued by the authority of origin.

So far in 2026, 214 machines have entered the country, representing a notable increase compared to the same period in 2025 (where 61 had been inspected), with a consequent increase in phytosanitary inspections and controls carried out at the port terminal.

The machinery arrives in Argentina, mostly from the United States and the European Union. Personnel from the Northern Buenos Aires Regional Center carry out exhaustive documentary and physical inspections of the machinery, with the aim of preventing the introduction of pests and thus protecting the national phytosanitary heritage.
