With the aim of optimizing road control operations, the National Agri-Food Health and Quality Service (SENASA) held an information session for Gendarmería Nacional personnel in Comodoro Rivadavia, Chubut province.

The session, aimed at personnel from Squadron 41 “Comodoro Rivadavia”, sought to strengthen the knowledge of agents performing operational functions related to their competencies in road controls, inspections, preventive procedures, and other services. All of this linked the collaborative actions they carry out with SENASA's corresponding inspection procedures and applicable regulations.

Among the topics presented were aspects related to supporting documentation, required authorizations, sanitary transport conditions, identification, traceability, and other applicable requirements for the transport of products and by-products of animal and plant origin, inputs, veterinary products, animal feed, and goods or elements under the control of the National Service, as well as the measures to be adopted upon detection of eventual irregularities.

Furthermore, practical guidelines were expanded regarding the main irregularities that may be observed during a control, when it is appropriate to involve SENASA, and what communication and coordination channels are available in such circumstances. Agents from the Patagonia Sur Regional Center participated in the training.
