In the framework of the permanent streamlining and simplification of its services, the National Agri-Food Health and Quality Service (SENASA) will launch, starting from the 2026-2027 citrus campaign, a new version of its Citrus Traceability IT System (SITC).
The update incorporates a new technological platform, developed over almost two years of work, which is based on the experience accumulated during more than 20 years of system operation and adds new possibilities to facilitate and streamline user management.

The new technological architecture will allow the incorporation of digital tools, improve interoperability, and more efficiently accompany the different stages of the campaign.
Among the main novelties is the possibility for producers to self-manage the data corresponding to their farms and productive units from the platform itself.
The implementation and incorporation of new tools will be progressive, the different modules will be enabled in stages, accompanying the development of the campaign and users at each stage.
The new SITC will also incorporate an AI-powered chatbot, which will function as a permanent help desk within the application.
The tool will allow users to make queries in plain language, without the need to know a specific way to perform the search. The assistant will be able to interpret the query, consider the stage of the procedure the user is in, and guide them on the necessary steps to continue the process.
This functionality seeks to facilitate access to information and provide support during system use.
The technological renovation is carried out on the certification circuit established by the Program. The procedures, steps, records, and controls currently known to users are maintained on the new platform.
In this way, the update allows the incorporation of new tools and technological capabilities without modifying the established operation for certification.
The launch of the new SITC will accompany the development of the 2026-2027 citrus campaign. The first stage will focus on the self-management of farm and productive unit data. As of October 19, the registration of citrus establishments will be available, with the deadline being November 13 of this year.

In this regard, users are advised to access the system to familiarize themselves with the new environment.
