The Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Ministry of Economy of the Nation strengthened prevention actions and mitigation strategies in the productive sector, through coordinated work with the Federal Emergency Agency (AFE) and other national and provincial organizations, within the framework of the 4th Federal Coordination Meeting on the "El Niño" phenomenon.
With the aim of minimizing the possible impacts associated with the climatic phenomenon, the Federal Emergency Agency (AFE), under the National Ministry of Security and as the coordinating body, gathered national and provincial authorities in Paraná.
The day included a welcome from the Governor of Entre Ríos, Rogelio Frigerio, and the provincial Minister of Security, Néstor Roncaglia. During the meeting, the ENOS 2026-2027 Federal Coordination Plan was presented, led by the executive director of the AFE, Santiago Hardie, and the deputy executive director, Ignacio Cabello.
Likewise, meteorological forecasts for the ENOS 2026-2027 period were analyzed, presented by the director of the National Meteorological Service (SMN), Pedro Di Nezio. Then, the Undersecretary of Agricultural and Forestry Production, Manuel Chiappe, and the national director of Health Emergencies (DINESA), Federico Villagrán, presented. Finally, the AFE presented its logistical and operational response scheme for this scenario, led by national director Martín Guerra.
In this context, the Secretariat of Agriculture provided management recommendations for agricultural producers and highlighted the importance of coordinating with strategic organizations and actors. These include the Agricultural Risk Office (ORA), which generates forecasts and early warning systems and coordinates tools for the prevention and mitigation of agricultural emergencies; INTA, through the Natural Resources Research Center and its predictive climate models; SENASA, through sanitary guidelines for the stages before and after eventual emergencies; the Federal Agricultural Council and specialists from the Agricultural Emergency area of the portfolio.
Authorities and representatives from the General Secretariat of the Presidency, the Chief of Staff of Ministers, the Ministry of Defense, National Roads, the National Parks Administration, OMEGA, the National Water Institute (INA), the Security Forces and the Armed Forces, among other organizations, also participated.
The joint work seeks to strengthen the State's capacity for anticipation and response to adverse climatic scenarios, through coordination between national organizations, provinces, and actors in the productive sector.
