The program comprises four fundamental subjects: Astronomical Navigation, Meteorology, Safety, and Legislation and Regulations. The in-person course is organized into two stages: an initial level verification cycle, which begins on the first Monday of April, and a second cycle of classes extending approximately from May to November, when the final exams are held.
As part of its educational offering, CEND incorporates extracurricular activities aimed at strengthening the knowledge and skills necessary for navigation. These include CPR and first aid workshops, navigation simulator practices, astronomical observations at the Planetario de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, and visits related to communications and search and rescue operations.
Additionally, boarding experiences on the yacht PNA Esperanza and the GC-24 Mantilla are planned, along with survival and fire prevention practices.
Extension Courses
The Center also offers academic extension courses for Yacht Skippers and Pilots, with content covering meteorology, electronic navigation, radar, positional astronomy, fluvial and maritime communications, personal survival, and firefighting, among other specialties. This training is repeated in two cycles during the academic year, from April to June and from August to October.
