The Argentine Naval Prefecture seized over 37 kilograms of narcotics during an operation carried out in Itá Ibaté, as part of investigations related to drug trafficking.

The operation began with information obtained by personnel from the Force's Criminal Intelligence and Investigations Delegation, which indicated an attempt to smuggle drug-related goods between kilometers 1370 and 1380 of the Paraná River.

Following this intelligence, national Maritime Authority personnel detected a motorboat with two crew members crossing from the Paraguayan coast and arriving in Argentine territory at kilometer 1370, in Puerto Chinita. Its occupants threw several packages overboard and then quickly returned to the neighboring country.

Immediately, Institution personnel searched the area and found, among the vegetation, four packages wrapped in black nylon containing marijuana buds.

As a result of the procedure, more than 37 kilograms of narcotics were seized, valued at over 143 million pesos.

The Federal Prosecuting Unit of Corrientes, under the Secretariat of Dr. Nicolás Markievich, is intervening in the case.
