PortCastelló reaffirms its commitment to attracting quality tourism and consolidating the port of Castellón as a reference stopover in the boutique cruise industry. In this context, Fundación PortCastelló organized a Fam Trip last week with the Director of Tourist Operations at Noatum Cruise Services, José Sennacheribbo, to showcase the tourism potential that Castellón offers to this type of cruise passenger.
The main objective of the trip was to show the tour operator the uniqueness of the province "in situ", facilitating the design and incorporation of exclusive excursions aimed at luxury cruise passengers calling at the port of Castellón.
Over two intense days, Susana Soria, manager of Fundación PortCastelló, led a technical visit through various strategic enclaves in the province that combine gastronomic excellence, cultural heritage, and tradition.
"With this visit, we confirmed that Castellón fits the interest that premium shipping companies have in proposals linked to local products, quality gastronomy, and direct connection with local producers and professionals," said the Director of Tourist Operations at Noatum Cruise Services, who was particularly struck by the proposed renovation of the Central Market of Castellón, even suggesting this space as a starting point for gastronomic routes and masterclasses linked to the local culinary identity.
"Once some of the high-value resources have been identified, the next step is to structure them as a tourist product adapted to the expectations of boutique cruise passengers, a task that falls to local agents," explained Sennacheribbo.
Noatum has entrusted this work to several local companies, which will now work on the conceptualization and structuring of the proposals, coordinating with companies in the region.
For her part, Susana Soria, who gave a very positive assessment of the expedition, highlighted that, with the organization of this technical action, "PortCastelló continues to work actively to connect the opportunities of the consignee and shipping sector with the local economic fabric, reinforcing the Castellón brand as a competitive and differential stopover destination."
This familiarization trip has visited emblematic municipalities in the province through a carefully crafted technical proposal that integrates heritage, culture, nature, and gastronomic excellence.
The expedition allowed for the discovery of the region's agri-food wealth with stops to explore the artisan cheeses of Tot de Poble and the millennial olive trees of Varona La Vella, whose extra virgin olive oil is among the best in the world. In terms of heritage and history, the itinerary included visits to the Castle of Onda, known as the fortress of 300 towers, and the private ceramic collections of the emblematic Casa de Dalt.
Likewise, the tour highlighted local tradition and identity in Burriana with a visit to the Naturem facilities, linked to the history of mandarin cultivation in the Comunitat Valenciana, along with the dissemination of the Museo Fallero and its traditional Gigantes y Cabezudos.
Finally, the zero-kilometer gastronomic proposal was completed with a visit to reference farms such as Masía Mascarós and La Huerta del Peñalén, and concluded in Oropesa del Mar through the exploration of unique spaces such as Masía Bellver, the Tempus building, and El Bosque, enclaves with their own personality aimed at designing exclusive experiences.
