Coinciding with the back-to-school season and the start of the new academic year, the Port of Vigo's underwater viewer "Atlántida", located in the Paseo de los Peces area in Bouzas, has adapted its offerings and visit schedule to become a living nature classroom for educational centers in Vigo and its metropolitan area.
This new school phase is supported by resounding public success: since its opening on July 24, the observatory has already exceeded 20,000 visitors, consolidating itself as an indispensable reference for scientific dissemination, environmental awareness, and the discovery of the biodiversity of the Vigo estuary.
During this week, from September 7 to 13, the facility will maintain its usual summer hours to make the most of the last days of the holidays. Starting next Monday, September 14, new shifts focused on the academic calendar and the autumn season will come into effect. The opening hours will be as follows:
From September 14 to October 18
Educational centers and pre-booked groups:
General public:
From October 19 to November 1
Educational centers and pre-booked groups:

With this reorganization, the Autoridad Portuaria de Vigo prioritizes weekday mornings so that schools and institutes can schedule their educational outings and learn firsthand about the marine flora and fauna that inhabit the recovered ecosystems of the port. Meanwhile, Friday afternoons, weekends, and holidays will remain reserved for the enjoyment of the general public and families.
Educational centers and groups interested in arranging guided visits during the academic year can request a reservation via the following email address: atlantida@apvigo.es
Visits inside the underwater observatory are guided, accessible, pet-friendly, and completely free, lasting approximately 30 minutes. At the entrance to the observatory, the guide service will organize access based on arrival order, with the last group entering half an hour before closing. Access to the aerial part and exterior walkways will be free during the period not occupied by guided tours.
In case of adverse weather conditions (alerts from the state meteorological agency), the observatory will remain closed for safety.
The "Nautilus" maintains its schedules
Regarding the "Nautilus", located in the Portocultura dock (next to A Laxe Shopping Center), it will maintain the same schedules, i.e.:
In the case of the "Nautilus", reservations must be made by sending the request with the signed rules (https://www.apvigo.es/es/paginas/visitas_peiraos) via the following email address: nautilus@apvigo.es
