Princess Cruises completes 25 years of shore power operations in Juneau, Alaska

Princess Cruises marks 25 years of shore power partnership in Juneau, Alaska, becoming the first cruise operator to connect ships to the city's hydroelectric system in 2001. The initiative has enabled 1,725 shore power connections, utilizing more than 123.6 million kilowatt-hours of hydroelectric power and avoiding approximately 84,534 metric tons of emissions while generating over US$11.2 million in Community Partnership credits. The model has been replicated at 41 cruise ports worldwide.
