Canada signs its first LNG sales agreement with German company
The Government of Canada announced a non-binding agreement with the German company SEFE for the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG). SEFE would purchase 1 million metric tons of LNG per year from Ksi Lisims, a proposed export plant on British Columbia's Pacific coast. Deliveries could begin in the early 2030s for a period of up to 20 years, transported via the Panama Canal or traded on the international market.
