The National Economic Prosecutor's Office (FNE) unconditionally approved the concentration operation through which Neltume will purchase 50% of Puerto Coronel's share capital from Arauco, thereby becoming the holder of 75% of the shares and acquiring exclusive decisive influence in the latter, considering that it is not likely to substantially reduce competition.
As a result of the investigation, the FNE analyzed and ruled out, due to the completion of the operation, possible vertical risks of blocking inputs and customers in the port services segment, and conglomerate risks regarding ship agency and container depot services.
Neltume participates in port concessionaires or operators throughout the country and is present in the ship agency markets through Ultramar and container depot services through Sitrans. Likewise, the company has a minority presence in active companies in these markets (MSC Agencia and Medlog, respectively).
Puerto Coronel is a private public-use port terminal located in the Bio Bio Region, which provides multi-purpose port services. The facility has infrastructure and equipment to handle various types of goods, specializing in the transfer of containerized cargo.
