The terminals located in the commune of Talcahuano, San Vicente Terminal Internacional (SVTI) and Talcahuano Terminal Portuario (TTP), jointly mobilized 3,122,395 tons during the first half of 2026, registering limited variations compared to the same period of the previous year.
In total volumes, while SVTI recorded a 1% decrease, TTP experienced a 1% growth, according to statistics provided by the state-owned Puertos Talcahuano to PortalPortuario.
In the case of SVTI, the terminal mobilized 2,757,047 tons, compared to 2,791,782 tons in the same period of 2025.
The result – for one of the main port facilities in Metropolitan Concepción – was marked by an increase in bulk volumes, which reached 134,609 tons. This number represented 36% more than the 99,095 tons transferred during the same period of the previous year.
Added to this was a 13% growth in break bulk cargo, which increased from 2,015 to 2,284 tons.
In contrast, containerized cargo decreased by 3%, from 2,690,672 tons in 2025 to 2,620,154 tons in 2026, with this decline being the main factor behind the slight overall drop for SVTI.
For its part, TTP reached 365,348 tons mobilized, exceeding the 360,270 tons registered in 2025, equivalent to a 1% growth.
The increase was mainly associated with the performance of break bulk cargo, which increased by 7%, from 199,350 to 213,322 tons.
Meanwhile, bulk cargo decreased by 6%, going from 160,920 to 152,026 tons.
Containerized merchandise, for its part, did not register movements in either of the two periods analyzed at Talcahuano Terminal Portuario, which has focused its operations on general cargo and bulk cargo.
