AS Tallink Grupp transported 6.2% more cargo units in August, reaching 20,722, while the number of passenger vehicles decreased by 0.3% to 83,282 in the same comparison.
It also served 611,913 passengers, representing a 2.8% increase compared to the same month in 2025.
Broken down by routes, the Estonia-Finlandia route transported 410,359 people, a 2.1% increase compared to 401,818 in the previous year. The Finland-Sweden line advanced by 8.1%, rising from 132,285 to 143,062 users, while the Estonia-Sweden route fell by 4.8%, going from 61,426 to 58,492 guests.
Regarding cargo units, the Estonia-Finlandia segment added 16,395 units, a 15.1% growth compared to the previous 14,239. The Finland-Sweden segment recorded a 23.4% increase with 3,171 units compared to 2,569 in 2025, while the Estonia-Sweden service decreased by 57.3%, registering 1,156 units compared to 2,710 in the compared period.
As for passenger vehicles, the Estonia-Finlandia service decreased by 1.1%, moving 69,298 vehicles compared to 70,093 in the previous year. The Finland-Sweden connection grew by 13.1%, reaching 9,551 units compared to 8,447 in 2025, while the Estonia-Sweden segment declined by 11.9%, decreasing from 5,029 to 4,433 vehicles.
The results for the Estonia-Finlandia route reflected the operations of the shuttle vessels MyStar and Megastar, in addition to the cruise ferry Victoria I. In the case of the Finland-Sweden service, the figures corresponded to the Helsinki-Stockholm route, operated by the cruise ferries Silja Serenade and Silja Symphony, and the Turku-Stockholm line, served by the Baltic Princess.
Finally, the performance of the Estonia-Sweden route was derived from the cruise ships Baltic Queen and Romantika on the Tallinn-Stockholm journey, with the latter vessel operating this route for three days. A year ago, operations on this segment included the Paldiski-Kapellskär route via the passenger vessel Superfast IX. Following the entry into force of the charter contract for said vessel on May 1, 2026, the service was suspended.
In August, the charter contract for the cruise ferry Galaxy I was extended until April 2027. The agreement includes an option to further extend the charter period. The vessel was chartered in September 2022 to Slaapschepen Public BV, an organization designated by Centraal Orgaan Opvang Asielzoekers (COA) in the Netherlands.
