Maersk updates Heavy Load Surcharge rates for Far East Asia to Mexico route
Maersk revised its Heavy Load Surcharge (HWS) for shipments from Far East Asia to Mexico, effective 15th July 2026. The surcharge applies to 20-foot dry containers exceeding 20 metric tons and 40-foot non-operating reefer containers exceeding 23 metric tons, both charged at USD 150. The updated rates also cover other regional destinations including West Coast South America, Central America, and Caribbean countries, with rates ranging from USD 200 to USD 400 depending on destination and effective dates.
