The National Port System Administration of Manzanillo (ASIPONA) has reaffirmed its collaboration with the Operations Committee of the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA), from which it has received its certification as a Platinum Member, which will allow it to strengthen cooperation with the main shipping lines in the Caribbean and the Pacific.
ASIPONA Manzanillo directly intervenes in the operational maneuvers for the reception of cruise ships; likewise, it supervises safety conditions at the dock and provides assistance during the vessels' stay, in coordination with the competent authorities.
By having the FCCA Platinum Member certification, ASIPONA Manzanillo has a strategic opportunity to attract larger tourist vessels, increase the flow of visitors, and position the port also as a tourist hub, given that logistical, operational, and security actions from the three levels of government converge in this venue, as well as from tour operators and tourism service providers, to guarantee efficient operation and comprehensive attention to visitors.
This recognition highlights ASIPONA Manzanillo's commitment to excellence in the service and reception of vessels from the world's leading cruise lines.
As a Platinum Member of the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association, ASIPONA Manzanillo has greater international visibility and access to new opportunities to strengthen the arrival of cruise ships, which represents a boost to tourist activity and local services, in addition to generating new development opportunities for Manzanillo.
Each of these connections can become a new opportunity for our port, our city, and the people of Manzanillo.
This is one more step towards the possibility of opening a public tender, in the medium term, for ASIPONA to award contracts for the operation of the tourist dock.
