Traditional product exports amounted to 7.112 billion dollars in June 2026, registering a year-on-year growth of 30.2%, the Central Reserve Bank (BCR) reported today.
This result was mainly explained by the 33.3% year-on-year increase in export prices, driven by higher quotations for copper, gold, and lead, the latter favored by the silver content in its shipments, it indicated.
Hydrocarbons also registered higher export prices, in line with the rise in international quotations, associated with the conflict in the Middle East, it explained.
In contrast, in terms of volume, the reduction was 2.6% and was explained by lower mining production and the difficulty of shipping copper and zinc concentrates, and also by the effects of the El Niño phenomenon on fishmeal and fish oil production.
In the accumulated first half of the year, the exported value of traditional products grew by 49.4% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 45.715 billion dollars, favored by higher prices which rose by 45.2%.
