MTC: National Port System Reaches Record of 17.6 Million Tons Mobilized

The Ministry of Transport and Communications reported that the port terminals of the National Port System mobilized 17.6 million metric tons between January and March 2026, representing a growth of 4.1% compared to the same period of the previous year. Rolling cargo led with an increase of 62.9%, followed by breakbulk cargo (10.9%), bulk minerals (9.3%), and containers (4.1%). This performance reflects improvements in infrastructure and operational capacity.
