Callao Terminal Registers 1,810,513 MT in its Best Month of 2026

The North Multipurpose Terminal of the Port of Callao, operated by APM Terminals Callao, registered the highest cargo movement so far this year in August.

The Peruvian port facility handled 1,810,513 metric tons (MT) of total cargo movement, including general and containerized cargo, in the eighth month of 2026, a figure that set a new record, according to data from the National Port Authority (APN).

The entity highlighted that "this performance contributes to strengthening Callao's port activity and enhancing the competitiveness of the National Port System (SPN), favoring the logistics chain and the movement of goods that connect Peru with international markets."

The volume of goods observed at the maritime facility in the northern sector of the Port of Callao surpassed previous monthly periods of 2026, where May had remained -until now- with the highest amount of the year, after moving 1,699,897 metric tons.

The third month with the highest movement at the North Multipurpose Terminal was April with 1,641,967 MT, followed by March with 1,587,588, July with 1,567,382 MT, and January with 1,528,758. To date, the weakest months in terms of cargo flow through the berths of the maritime facility were February with 1,510,287 MT and June with 1,496,879 MT.

In total, the port facility managed by port operator APM Terminals Callao has handled 12,843,271 metric tons up to August 2026.
