With the aim of optimizing safety in port operations, the General Directorate of Captaincies and Coastguards (DICAPI) has officially enacted, through Directorial Resolution N° 348-2026 MGP/DICAPI, new regulations that redefine transit channels and anchorage areas for vessels within the jurisdiction of the Callao Port Captaincy.
The measure, published today in the Legal Norms edition, responds to the need to update maritime zoning according to the specific characteristics of the vessels. The technical provision establishes differentiated guidelines based on the type of vessel, its operational status, the type of cargo it transports, and the nature of the operations it will carry out in the area.
One of the central points of this resolution is the relocation of various anchorage areas, with special emphasis on the bays of Ancon and Pucusana. This reorganization seeks to improve maritime traffic flow and mitigate risks in strategic coastal areas.
The regulations place special emphasis on the compliance and dissemination of these new guidelines. According to the provision, maritime agents assume joint and several responsibility with the owners and operators of the vessels.
In this regard, it is imperative that agencies ensure that the captains and masters of the vessels under their representation have full knowledge of the new transit channels and assigned anchorage zones, thus guaranteeing strict adherence to the new routes and operational areas.
The resolution, which includes Annex "E" with the technical details of the coordinates and limits of the new zones, came into force after its official publication. Associates are advised to review the attached technical material to ensure proper planning of their operations.
