The Taiwanese shipping company Wan Hai Lines seeks to strengthen its participation in the Peruvian market through vessels of more than 13,000 TEU and services for refrigerated cargo. Its strategy is aimed at transporting grapes and blueberries to Asia, in a scenario of growth in South American agro-exports and increased demand for international maritime connections.
During 2025, Peruvian agro-exports reached USD 15,013 million, with a year-on-year growth of 17.3%. Among the main products, fresh blueberries stood out, with USD 2,457 million, and fresh grapes, with USD 1,960 million, which drive the regional demand for specialized maritime services.
Wan Hai's expansion could broaden logistical alternatives for South American exporters, especially in the availability of reefer containers, frequencies, and transit times. Peruvian ports such as Callao, Paita, and Chancay play a strategic role in connecting the region's agro-export supply with Asian markets.
