Tanker Hijacked in the Gulf of Aden and Diverted to Somalia

A tanker was boarded by six armed individuals in the Gulf of Aden, 136 nautical miles east of Al Mukalla, Yemen, according to UKMTO. The refined product tanker, identified as Sibu 1 (IMO 9204776) with a deadweight of 32,200 tons, was reoriented towards Somalia. The vessel is registered under the Eritrean flag and is on the OFAC sanctions list under the name Seamull.
