Pilatus Marine refloated after grounding in Çanakkale Strait
The bulk carrier Pilatus Marine was successfully refloated on 30 July after running aground at Nara Dönüşü in the Çanakkale Strait, Türkiye, on 29 July. The vessel, sailing in ballast from Syria to Russia, suffered a machinery failure. Türkiye's General Directorate of Coastal Safety deployed tugs Kurtarma 16, Kurtarma 19 and emergency response boat Kıyem 1 to assist. No pollution or damage was reported.
