Houthi Attack on Saudi-Flagged Tanker NCC Ghazal in Red Sea

Houthi militants claimed responsibility for attacking the Saudi-flagged tanker NCC Ghazal in the Red Sea on 28 July. Military spokesperson Yahya Saree stated the 2014-built vessel was targeted with ballistic missiles for allegedly violating Saudi Arabia's maritime embargo. The UK Maritime Trade Operations confirmed an explosion was heard; all crew remained safe with no environmental damage reported. This marks the latest in a series of Houthi attacks on Saudi-linked shipping.
