Cargo Vessel Khoi Nguyen 18 Capsizes in South China Sea; 17 Still Missing
The cargo vessel Khoi Nguyen 18 capsized near Fiery Cross Reef in the South China Sea on 25 July after sending a distress flare. Of the 62 people aboard, 45 have been rescued, while 17 Vietnamese nationals remain missing. A multinational search-and-rescue operation involving six Chinese vessels, a rescue helicopter, and a Vietnamese vessel is ongoing.
