The Panama Canal recorded 13,951 transits during fiscal year 2026, a 4.1% increase compared to the previous period. Mobilized tonnage grew by 6.5%, while preliminary revenues reached USD 6.6 billion.
Growth was driven by energy segments and the performance of container ships. The Neopanamax locks accounted for 52.2% of the total tonnage, while maintaining a 50-foot draft favored operations during the dry season.
In addition, the Canal Authority reinstated last-minute reservations for vessels using the Panamax locks, due to recent water conditions. These results reinforce maritime connectivity and the relevance of this route for international trade and Latin American logistics chains.
