Construction machinery made by Shandong Lingong Construction Machinery has been shipped from Linyi to Oman via Qingdao Port, marking the first operation under a new sea-rail intermodal customs clearance model jointly developed by Shandong Port Logistics Group's Linyi branch and Shandong Lingong.
Under the new model, customs declaration, inspection and release are all completed in Linyi, allowing goods to move directly by rail to Qingdao Port for onward shipment overseas. Manufacturers no longer need to arrange customs procedures elsewhere or transfer cargo through the port a second time, reducing handling steps, shortening transit processes and improving logistics efficiency.
The development brings key seaport services closer to inland manufacturers, making international shipping simpler and more convenient for local businesses.
Shandong Port Group has been working closely with Linyi to expand sea-rail intermodal transport and support regular dedicated train services for Shandong Lingong machinery. Linyi's approval of the international port code CNLYI has further strengthened its role as an inland gateway for international trade.
The successful shipment also reflects the close coordination among the port operator, customs authorities, land port operators and railway services, ensuring smooth connections from local customs clearance to overseas delivery.
By bringing port services inland and connecting rail transport with ocean shipping, Shandong Port Group is helping Linyi manufacturers reach international markets more efficiently.
