Two Factory Ships Unload 6,810 Tons at the Port of Iquique
The Port of Iquique received two factory ships, Maartje Theadora and Annelies Ilena, at the Multi-operated Terminal of Empresa Portuaria Iquique. Both operations handled over 6,810 tons of fish (squid, jack mackerel, Pacific grunt, mackerel, and bonito), destined for markets in Africa and Europe, including Bremerhaven in Germany and Abidjan in Ivory Coast. The El Niño phenomenon has shifted fish schools towards international waters, opening up possibilities for new calls.
