Suezmax study validates T-BOSS® sterntubeless system for shipbuilding CAPEX savings
An in-depth evaluation of Thordon Bearings' T-BOSS® sterntubeless shaftline system on a 274m Suezmax tanker demonstrates significant CAPEX and OPEX benefits. The study shows labour and installation costs are lower across all shipbuilding disciplines, while creating up to 660m³ of additional cargo space. Owners would save approximately US$33,000 in initial oil costs and US$11,500 annually in operating expenses, plus US$5,100 in annual fuel savings through reduced shaftline drag.
