Maersk Tokyo Arrives in San Antonio with Methanol Propulsion
San Antonio Terminal Internacional received the inaugural call of the Maersk Tokyo, a Maersk container ship equipped with a dual-fuel engine capable of running on methanol (MDF). The Panamanian-flagged vessel, with a capacity of 8,906 TEU, handled 2,700 containers at Berth No. 2. The ship, launched in July 2026 from Japan Marine United Co (JMU), belongs to the Japanese shipowner Nissen Kaiun and is the first delivery of an order for 12 units.
