Port of Rotterdam Completes Its First Ethanol Bunkering
The Port of Rotterdam carried out its first ethanol bunkering when the container ship Eco Levant, operated by X-Press Feeders, received fuel from a supply vessel. The mixture consisted of 90% biomethanol and 10% second-generation ethanol, both certified by the EU ISCC. Matthijs van Doorn, commercial director of the Port of Rotterdam Authority, highlighted that this milestone demonstrates the port's readiness for a wide range of low-carbon alternative fuels.
