Fepasa withdraws set of wagons from circulation after derailment in Chiguayante
Ferrocarril del Pacífico (Fepasa) preventively withdrew 27 wagons from circulation following a train derailment in Chiguayante, Bio Bio Region, which occurred on May 9. The wagons have the same components supplied by the manufacturer as the damaged wagons. A preliminary report from the UIAF pointed to the detachment of a wheel as the cause of the incident. Fepasa requested an independent technical investigation from the Institute of Technological Research of the University of Concepción.
