The Teatret del Serrallo has organized the 'Memòries salades' route, an itinerary that will tour the fishing district led by Pitu Mosquits. The proposal will follow the places in the neighborhood that appear in the memoir book 'Serrallo, memòries salades', which Pitu Mosquits published this spring as part of the 'Veus del Moll' collection by the Port Tarragona Publications Service. The route will take place on Wednesday, October 21st, at 7 PM and will start from the Xiquets del Serrallo premises. This is one of the proposals scheduled as part of the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the recovery of the Teatret del Serrallo. The activity is free with prior reservation on the Entràdium website.
The 'Memòries salades' route is conceived as an activity to remember how a unique environment like the Serrallo neighborhood was and how it has changed, all from the personal perspective of Pitu Mosquits. The activity includes a tour of various locations in the neighborhood that appear in the book, such as the pergolas, Salou street, Sant Magí square, or the Teatret del Serrallo.
In addition to getting to know the neighborhood through Pitu Mosquits' experiences, the route will allow participants to learn anecdotes related to the Teatret del Serrallo. This activity is part of the proposals scheduled within the framework of the commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the recovery of the Teatret del Serrallo.
The activity is free with prior reservation on the Entràdium website. Registration can be formalized at this link.
The activity takes as reference the book 'Serrallo, memòries salades', by Josep Ramon Tules Armela (Pitu Mosquits) and with the editorial care of Ramon Giner i Filella. The work, which premiered the new 'Veus del Moll' collection of the Port Tarragona Publications Service, is a compilation of the history of the fishing district of Serrallo, from the second half of the 20th century to the present day, with the intimate and deeply human perspective of Pitu Mosquits. Through his personal memories, the book becomes a choral narrative about a way of life linked to the sea, work, family, and community.
'Serrallo, memòries salades' was an unprecedented sales success, breaking all historical records registered by the Port Publications Service last Sant Jordi. Those who participate in the route and wish to acquire the volume can do so at the Teatret at the end of the activity.
