The Administrative Commission of the Río de la Plata (CARP) signed the new contract with Jan De Nul Uruguay branch for the execution of maintenance dredging, widening, and eventual improvement works of the Martín García Canal.
"The signing of the contract concludes the bidding process and constitutes a fundamental step to ensure the navigability and safety of the Martín García Canal. The planned works will improve the efficiency and competitiveness of the Río de la Plata navigation system, strengthening this strategic infrastructure for foreign trade and regional connectivity," the organization highlighted in a public statement.
The contract will have an initial duration of five years, with an option for an extension of another five years, and will ensure the maintenance of navigation conditions, the execution of widening works, and the potential incorporation of additional improvements, including the deepening of the canal.
