In June 2026, Porto Itapoá recorded the highest monthly volume of container handling since the beginning of its operations.
During that period, just over 74,000 containers were managed, setting a new historical record precisely in the month the terminal celebrates its 15th anniversary.
This new milestone surpasses the previous record, registered in August 2025, when the port handled just over 73,000 containers.
According to Porto Itapoá's CEO, Ricardo Arten, the result reinforces the terminal's trajectory of constant growth, driven by the expansion of its operational capacity, continuous investments in infrastructure, and improvements in productivity.
"Achieving the highest monthly volume in history precisely in the month the terminal turns 15 has a special meaning," Arten stated.
Another indicator of this growth is that the 10 largest monthly volumes ever recorded by Porto Itapoá have occurred since 2024, demonstrating a new operational phase marked by successive records and the consolidation of the terminal among the country's main container terminals.
"This is the result of the trust of our clients, the dedication of our employees, and the investments made in recent years to expand our capacity and increase operational efficiency. More than celebrating a number, we celebrate the consolidation of a port prepared to sustain the growth of Brazilian foreign trade," Arten added.
June's performance also contributes to the solid accumulated result for the first half of the year. Between January and June 2026, Porto Itapoá handled 412,002 containers.
In June, imports totaled over 21,000 containers, including dry and refrigerated (reefer) cargo, while exports reached over 14,000 in both categories. The terminal also recorded intense transshipment activity, with over 15,000 containers handled. Throughout the month, 62 vessels docked at the port.
In the first half of 2026, China stands out as the main destination for Porto Itapoá's exports, with 17.9%, and as the main origin of imports, with 49.4% of the total.
Among the main export destinations are also the United States, with 16.5%, and Italy, with 6.1%. Among the prominent origins of imports are Colombia, with 4.8% of the cargo, and Egypt, with 4.5%.
