Bolivia's National Export Verification Service (Senavex) has initiated the pilot phase of the Digital Certificate of Origin (DCO) for exports destined for Ecuador, in fulfillment of commitments made within the framework of the Andean Community (CAN). The implementation began on June 15 through the INTERCOM interoperability platform, with the aim of strengthening the modernization of foreign trade processes between both countries.
During this testing stage, Certificates of Origin will continue to be issued under the current procedure, maintaining their validity for commercial operations. However, exporters will be required to attach supporting documentation in digital format via the TAYPI platform, including files signed with a digital signature, to enable the electronic generation and transmission of the certificates.
The initiative seeks to validate the electronic exchange of information and advance regional trade facilitation through digital tools. The adoption of this mechanism will contribute to optimizing the efficiency, security, and traceability of processes related to foreign trade, strengthening logistical, documentary, and maritime integration among CAN member countries, and promoting greater agility in international supply chains.
