Ambassador Cruise Line has announced a new four-night themed sailing celebrating three decades of music and culture, departing from the UK's Port of Tyne.
Ambassador Cruise Line launched 'Decks & Decades… a 70s, 80s & 90s Celebration,' a four-night themed sailing aboard Ambition departing from Port of Tyne on September 22. The cruise will combine live entertainment, themed dining experiences, fancy dress nights and musical performances spanning three decades.
The sailing will feature three guest acts representing each era. 'The Divettes' will perform Motown, Soul, Pop, R&B and Gospel hits for the 1970s segment. 'Wild Boys,' formed in 2009, will deliver 1980s hits from artists including Phil Collins, Duran Duran, Queen and Prince. '90s Rewind' will perform dance hits from artists including Destiny's Child, Madonna, Blur and Oasis.
Passengers can participate in themed quizzes, cabaret performances and three fancy dress evenings with prizes. Themed menus will feature classics with contemporary interpretations. Activities will take place across the ship with headline performances in Ambition's Palladium Theatre.
The four-night sailing will visit Ijmuiden in the Netherlands and Zeebrugge in Belgium before arriving in Bristol Royal Portbury. Ijmuiden provides access to Amsterdam and Haarlem, while Zeebrugge serves as a gateway to Bruges.
The launch follows research commissioned by Ambassador revealing that 64% of British travellers view travel as an opportunity to revisit the past, while 38% are planning nostalgia-led holidays in 2026. Music and themed experiences rank among the biggest attractions for passengers planning such trips.
Ambassador's existing themed cruise programme includes 'The Summer of '85 Revisited,' 'Back to the 70s,' 'Back to the 80s' and 'Battle of the Bands' featuring Beatles and Rolling Stones tribute acts.

Ambassador's seasonal sales campaign offers savings of up to 20% on selected sailings booked before July 29, 2026. Saver Fares start from £615 per person based on two people sharing a suite with the 20% discount applied. Ambassador Fares, including the Ambassador Expedition Drinks Package, start from £834 per person based on two people sharing a suite with the discount.
