The Azamara Pursuit has made its inaugural visit to Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada.
In a press release, The Nanaimo Port Authority (NPA) described this as a milestone, being the first time the port will welcome a peak-season Alaska cruise itinerary to the passenger terminal.
"We are so excited to welcome Azamara Pursuit on its inaugural call to Nanaimo. This visit marks an important moment for our Port and community, as we continue to build Nanaimo's presence on Alaska itineraries during the peak cruising season," said Kimberly Kelly, manager of cruise development.
"We are deeply grateful to Azamara for their confidence in Nanaimo and for entrusting us as a destination for their guests."
As previously reported by Cruise Industry News, the Pursuit is scheduled to operate a summer season in Alaska, offering ten- and 11-night cruises departing from Whittier and Vancouver.
It will then reposition to Asia in September for a series of fall and winter cruises in the Far East, Southeast Asia and the South Pacific.
Originally known as the R Eight, the ship recently completed 25 years of service. It was acquired by Azamara in 2017.
