Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings appointed seasoned HR veteran Heather Jacobs as chief people officer, responsible for talent strategy, strengthening leadership capability and ensuring the company attracts, develops and retains top talent.
She'll report directly to CEO John Chidsey as part of the executive leadership team.
Jacobs brings more than 25 years of global leadership experience across hospitality and travel, leading organizational strategies within complex, multinational organizations. Most recently she was based in France as global head of talent and development at Sodexo, a food services and facilities management company, where she led global talent, leadership development, learning and culture initiatives for more than 400,000 employees worldwide.
Before that, Jacobs was chief human resources officer at hospitality and food service company Delaware North, leading a workforce of more than 40,000.
Over more than two decades at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Jacobs held senior people and culture leadership roles, ultimately as SVP. Early in her career, she held HR, front desk and housekeeping management roles at The Pierre Hotel in New York and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Chicago.
"As we continue our work to strengthen execution, foster collaboration and position our company for long-term success, we are confident Heather's leadership, experience and passion for people will be instrumental in helping us achieve our goals," an NCLH spokesperson said.
Jacobs takes over from Lynn White, who held the role during a transition period the past few months after retiring as EVP and chief people excellence officer in January following 15 years with NCLH.
