DP World Certifies 30 Women in Pastry Course in Penco

In a ceremony held in the Ema Stöhr auditorium, located in the municipal building of Penco, 30 participants from the Women Heads of Household Program received their certification after successfully completing a pastry training course, an initiative supported by DP World in Lirquén. The activity is part of DP World's commitment to the development of the communities where it operates, promoting training opportunities that contribute to the personal and economic growth of the participants. Nicole Orellana, head of selection and development at the terminal, highlighted that these types of programs allow for enhancing the capabilities of the users, strengthening their knowledge and providing them with tools that boost their ventures and economic autonomy. Through this training, participants not only acquired new skills to strengthen their businesses but also developed competencies that will allow them to generate income and contribute to the well-being of their families, including the care and support of children and elderly people. Among the participants was Macarena Bustos, a resident of Penco, who saw this training as an opportunity to continue developing one of her great passions: cooking. With professional experience as an auditing accountant, she commented that she has faced difficulties in finding job opportunities, so this course allowed her to explore new possibilities related to entrepreneurship. In addition to the technical learning, she highlighted the value of sharing with other women from the commune, creating bonds, and learning in a close and motivating environment. "What I like most is the unity we have had as a group, getting out of the house and being able to talk to other people. We also had a very cheerful teacher who helped and prepared us more and more," said Bustos. Macarena explained that she came to the course with the expectation of acquiring new knowledge that she could apply both in her personal life and in a potential venture. Thanks to her mother's family business, she is already evaluating ways to put what she learned into practice. "I love cooking. I'm fascinated by preparing food for my family, but I also think it could become a business. Perhaps this could be my place," she added. Finally, she thanked the support provided by our company and the quality of the training received. "I thank DP World because we managed to learn new techniques with excellent teachers," she concluded. In addition to technical learning, the program fostered the creation of support networks among the attendees. Belonging to the same commune, many of them had the opportunity to meet, share experiences, and generate bonds that they continue to maintain once the training is completed.
