Chile's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Francisco Pérez Mackenna, met with the Minister of Trade of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Thani Al Zeyoudi, to boost trade and investment between both countries.
The South American nation seeks to expand commercial and economic ties with the Gulf territories, a region considered key for the export of goods and services, as part of a strategy to open new markets and diversify.
Last year, a strategic agreement between Chile and the UAE came into force, the first between the country and a Middle Eastern nation.
Bilateral trade grew by 38% in 2025, totaling USD 320.7 million.
"Chile aims to continue strengthening its trade presence in the Gulf region, deepening relations with key countries such as the United Arab Emirates," said Minister Pérez Mackenna.
