Hanseatic Global Terminals Latin America Inland Services has incorporated two state-of-the-art electric generators into its refrigerated terminal in Puerto Montt, as part of a USD 150,000 investment aimed at strengthening its energy backup. The company's intention is to continue developing a reliable operation, oriented to the needs of salmon exporters in southern Chile.
The equipment consists of two 500 KVA electric generators each, with automatic activation in the event of power outages, which will allow the facility to remain operational and adequately safeguard the conservation of frozen products against external contingencies.
"Puerto Montt is a strategic area for our company because salmon farming is an export industry, and we are where there is logistics at the service of foreign trade. This investment reaffirms our commitment to local operations to continue developing reliable operations in line with the standards currently demanded by exporters and the sector's sanitary regulations," said Juan Pablo Bowen, General Manager of Hanseatic Global Terminals Inland Services.
With more than three decades of experience in Puerto Montt, the refrigerated terminal has been a relevant part of the logistics chain in the southern austral region. It projects this experience into a new operational improvement, which will allow it to maintain all its operations autonomously, safeguard its 6,500 tons of storage capacity, and ensure the conservation of its clients' frozen products, even in the face of external contingencies.
