During its two years of operation, the tanker Zangilan made 83 voyages along the route between Sangachal, in Azerbaijan, and Aladzha and Kiyanly, in Turkmenistan, across the Caspian Sea. In this period, the vessel transported 566,831 tons of cargo.
24 months have passed since the vessel, built at the Baku shipyard for ASCO, a subsidiary of Azcon Holding, was commissioned. The ship began services in July 2024, following a ceremony with the participation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
The new generation tanker measures 141 meters in length, 16.9 meters in width, and six meters in height. It reaches speeds of up to 10 knots and has a crew of 15 people. It is equipped with six cargo tanks with a total capacity of 9,212 cubic meters and has a deadweight of 7,875 tons.
The tanker is designed to transport both oil and chemicals. Its technical characteristics, particularly its draft, allow it, when fully loaded, to enter relatively shallow ports in the Caspian basin and also transport cargo beyond the Caspian Sea.
