The Port of San Antonio mobilized - through its concessionaires San Antonio Terminal Internacional (STI) and DP World - a total of 9,980,682 tons between January and May 2026, a figure that represented a 5% increase compared to the same period in 2025, when 9,467,597 tons were mobilized.
In May alone, total transfers reached 2,233,129 tons, making it the most active month of 2026 and exceeding the volume recorded in the same month of the previous year by 25%.
In the fifth month of the year, 170,147 TEUs were also handled, which meant a 15% growth compared to May 2025. With this, the accumulated TEU transfer between January and May showed a 5% increase in relation to the identical period of the previous year.
Containerized cargo also showed positive performance with a 20% increase in May compared to the same month in 2025. In the accumulated January-May period, this segment reached 7,604,823 tons, equivalent to a 5% increase.
During the January-May period, the performance of solid bulk also stood out, accumulating 1,835,033 tons mobilized with a 16% progress compared to 2025. Breakbulk cargo also achieved a 4% growth and a total of 220,247 tons transferred.
Meanwhile, vehicle unloading remained practically unchanged with approximately 110,000 units mobilized. For its part, liquid bulk registered a decrease of 21%, going from 408,079 tons in 2025 to 320,578 tons this year.
"The results for May and the accumulated figures for 2026 confirm that Puerto San Antonio maintains a solid performance and continues to be a key player for the continuity of the national logistics chain. Reaching almost 10 million tons transferred in the first five months of the year is not just a relevant figure, it is a concrete sign of operational capacity, efficiency, and coordination among the different actors of the port system. This growth challenges us to continue strengthening the port's efficiency and operational continuity," assured Fernando Gajardo, interim general manager of Empresa Portuaria San Antonio (EPSA).
