Kitanihon Shipbuilding, located in Hachinohe, Japan, recently delivered a new reefer vessel, registered under the Singapore flag, to the Japanese shipowner Nissen Kaiun.
This concerns the launching of the Snow Flake, which is 158 meters long, 28 meters wide, and equipped with four cranes, as reported by Alphaliner.
"It is the second unit in a series of seven reefer vessels being built for Japanese shipowners under charter contracts with the Stockholm-based reefer vessel operator Cool Carriers. This vessel follows the Snow Flower, delivered in March. The other five similar units are scheduled for delivery by 2028," the consultancy added.
The Snow Flake has a cargo capacity of 18,066 m3 and can transport 100 FEU refrigerated containers. It is capable of moving between 5,200 to 5,700 fruit pallets.
The vessel features conventional propulsion, is equipped with exhaust gas scrubbers, and achieves a service speed of 20 knots.
