Hagland Shipping AS, a short-sea dry bulk shipping operator in Northern Europe, announced the addition of a state-of-the-art Damen Combi Freighter (CF) 3850 vessel to its fleet through a time charter agreement with the German company Reederei Gerdes and its commercial subsidiary over-C.
The Damen CF 3850 vessel, chartered by Hagland Shipping, incorporates a series of advanced and environmentally friendly features such as hybrid battery propulsion allowing for periods of fully electric navigation, shore power connection to eliminate emissions while docked, and the ability to operate on B100 biodiesel.
Additionally, it features wind-assisted propulsion via Econowind VentoFoils and an optimized hull design for greater fuel efficiency and reduced emissions.
With a deadweight of approximately 3,850 tons and a flexible cargo configuration, the vessel is ideal for short-sea bulk shipping operations in Europe.
