OOCL Wisdom, Orient Overseas Container Line Ltd.'s (OOCL) first methanol dual-fuel container ship, completed its initial green methanol bunkering and began its maiden voyage at the Port of Qingdao.
The vessel is part of a series of seven units that will utilize the clean energy resource and has a maximum capacity of 24,168 TEU. The ship is currently the world's largest methanol dual-fuel container carrier and operates on the Asia – North Europe Loop 1 (LL1) route.
Peter Pan, Director of Commercial Operations at OOCL, stated that "the OOCL Wisdom completed its first green methanol bunkering and made its maiden voyage to Europe at the Port of Qingdao, representing a significant achievement of the growing collaboration between OOCL and Shandong Port Group, and reflecting OOCL's firm commitment to green and low-carbon development, digital intelligence, and sustainability."
